March For Our Lives Mourns the Loss of Senator Feinstein, a Champion and Unwavering Ally for the Gun Violence Prevention Movement

March for Our Lives volunteers meeting with Senator Feinstein last year.

WASHINGTON, DC — It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, a tireless champion for the gun violence prevention movement and a stalwart advocate for the safety and future of young people across the country. Even at times when few would talk about gun violence, Senator Feinstein stood up for our lives and fought hard to address the gun violence epidemic in our country. From her pivotal role in the passage of the Assault Weapons Ban and her relentless push for its reinstatement to her tireless commitment to background checks, extreme risk protection orders, and other policies addressing the root causes of gun violence – she was a fierce advocate and fighter. While she will be deeply missed, she will not be forgotten – her legacy lives on in this movement and will continue to inspire us to work toward a future free from gun violence. We are eternally grateful for her lifetime of service and wish her loved ones comfort as they mourn her loss.
