March For Our Lives’ Statement on Allen, Texas Mass Shooting

Washington, D.C. — “We’re sickened and horrified by the mass shooting in Allen, Texas, and our hearts ache as gun violence wrenches yet another community.  May all those who lost their lives rest in peace and power.

As a spate of mass shootings has rocked Texas, it’s clear that we need urgent action to address this epidemic. And yet the cowards who call themselves our leaders have nothing to offer but “thoughts and prayers.” Politicians in the pocket of the gun lobby are more interested in playing political games and preserving their careers. Pathetic. Texans are dying because of their failed leadership. Young people in Texas and across the nation won’t accept that.”
