We are the leading voice for youth activism in the nation.

Our mission

Born out of a tragic school shooting, March For Our Lives is a courageous youth-led movement dedicated to promoting civic engagement, education, and direct action by youth to eliminate the epidemic of gun violence. We aim to create safe and healthy communities and livelihoods where gun violence is obsolete.

We’re making history

In the shadow of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida, we stood up with millions of young people across the country and the world to say: Enough. We refused to accept a world where guns kill more kids and young people in the United States than anything else. We refused to accept our so-called leaders’ excuses as they threw up their hands and threw away our futures. We refused to accept the gun lobby’s lies as they put their profits over our lives. 

So we marched. In 2018, we organized the largest single day of protest against gun violence in history with millions across the country and the globe. Since then we’ve proved that young people are a force to be reckoned with, breaking youth voter records year after year to kick out the NRA’s cronies and elect gun safety majorities, and we’ve helped pass over 300 gun violence prevention laws across the country that have saved lives. And we’re just getting started.

From a moment, to a movement

Six years since we first Marched For Our Lives, our movement has changed quite a bit. We’ve traveled the country on our Road to Change, registered millions of voters, broke records, and passed hundreds of laws. But we’ve also grown up and seen more and more youth leaders step into the movement. We’ve fought to expand how people typically think of gun violence beyond mass shootings, and to consider the “Five Forces” that fuel gun violence to make sure that our fight is focused on those most impacted by violence. And we’ve begun to pull up a seat at the table for ourselves, with one of our own becoming the first Gen-Z congressperson ever. There’s much more to do, but as long as our lives are on the line, we’ll keep marching for our lives. 

We will be the generation that ENDS GUN VIOLENCE.
