Campaign highlights how Bondi exploited Parkland tragedy for political gain, became the most dangerous and deadly AG on gun safety in modern history

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 22nd, 2025 — Today, March for Our Lives (MFOL) launched “Parkland Pam,” a national accountability campaign exposing how U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi—who served as Florida Attorney General during the time of the 2018 Parkland school shooting—exploited the tragedy to advance her political career and later systematically betrayed every promise she made to survivors and grieving families.

The new campaign features mobile billboards in Washington D.C. and Miami, Florida with the message “Parkland Pam Exploited Our Pain for Political Gain,” a digital hub, and survivor-led advocacy demanding Bondi fulfill the commitments she made after the February 14, 2018 shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

In the aftermath of the Parkland shooting, then-Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi stood before cameras and made promises to survivors and grieving families. She vowed to keep guns out of dangerous hands and claimed to support policies that would prevent future tragedies. At her confirmation hearing for U.S. Attorney General, she invoked the names and pain of Parkland families to secure her position. But when the cameras stopped rolling, Bondi wiped away her crocodile tears and took action that would kill American kids.

“Pam Bondi used the worst day of my life as a photo op,” said Jackie Corin, March For Our Lives Executive Director and Parkland survivor. “Bondi supported Florida’s gun safety reforms when it was good politics, but has since become the most dangerous and deadly U.S. Attorney General on gun safety in modern history.”

As U.S. Attorney General, Bondi has done more to roll back gun safety protections than any AG in American history. Bondi has already:

“No Attorney General in modern history will cause more children in America to be killed by guns than Pam Bondi,” said David Hogg, March For Our Lives co-founder. “At her confirmation, Bondi talked about common-sense policies and her own pain seeing families suffer. But once in office, Bondi’s done the gun lobby’s bidding by gutting reforms that are proven to save lives, including going after life saving violence intervention programs that not only save thousands of lives but hundreds of millions of tax payers dollars by stopping shootings before they happen.  We are here to remind her: you can’t claim Parkland’s legacy while dismantling Parkland’s reforms.”

The campaign calls on Bondi to honor the promises she made to Parkland families by committing to concrete, common sense actions: reinstate the ATF’s zero tolerance policy for law-breaking gun dealers, support national implementation of red flag laws, restore funding for Community Violence Intervention and school safety programs, and stop prioritizing gun industry profits over the lives of America’s children.

“Washington is full of people who’ve built their careers by coasting on broken promises, and Pam Bondi is Exhibit A,” said U.S. Representative Maxwell Frost, who previously served as the National Organizing Director at March for Our Lives. “This campaign is about exposing her for what she really is: a politician who weaponized tragedy for personal gain.”

“As a survivor of gun violence, I’ve seen firsthand how politicians use our pain and loss for political gain and offer nothing more than fake thoughts and fake prayers,” said Trevon Bosley, board co-chair of March For Our Lives. “AG Bondi is at the top of the list of corrupt politicians who couldn’t care less about lives lost like my brother and cousin and many more across the country.”

“In 2018, Pam Bondi stood before the cameras and vowed to keep guns out of dangerous hands and support policies that would prevent future tragedies,” said Manny Oliver, father of Parkland victim Joaquin Oliver. “Bondi was Florida’s top law enforcement official when my son Joaquin was murdered at school. She repeatedly promised action on gun violence prevention, only to abandon those commitments when it came time to deliver real results.”

At 12:00 PM ET on Wednesday, July 23, March for Our Lives (MFOL) will host an on-the-record virtual press call featuring remarks from MFOL leadership — Executive Director, Jackie Corin, co-founder David Hogg, and board member Trevon Bosley — as well as Parkland Parent Manuel Oliver, Father of Joaquin Oliver, and U.S. Representative Maxwell Frost (D-FL).
