#BoycottNRA
The NRA can’t hide in the shadows anymore. We put them on blast and cut their ties.

Making the NRA a Household Name
Before Parkland, the NRA operated in the shadows of politics, known mostly to insiders and gun lobbyists. Young people changed that. We called them out directly, naming the NRA as the villain behind America’s gun violence epidemic. Overnight, they went from obscure to infamous — a household name that our generation associates with corruption, greed, and bloodshed.
Forcing Corporations to Cut Ties
Within days of Parkland, dozens of major companies — from Delta and United to Hertz, Avis, MetLife, and First National Bank of Omaha — cut ties with the NRA under massive public pressure.
That didn’t happen on its own. Young people launched a national call to action, flooding companies with complaints, organizing digital campaigns, and putting corporations under the spotlight. We forced them to decide: stand with the gun lobby, or stand with us. The pressure worked. Airline perks disappeared. Credit card deals collapsed. Rental car discounts were gone. And for the first time in decades, the NRA was losing ground.
This was more than a boycott. It was proof that a generation refusing to stay silent could take on one of the most powerful lobbies in the country — and win. By making the NRA toxic to do business with, we weakened its brand, exposed its corruption, and showed the world that the gun lobby’s power can be broken.

Exposing Corruption and Driving Bankruptcy
In 2018, March For Our Lives filed a complaint urging New York Attorney General Letitia James to investigate the NRA’s finances and shady dealings. That action helped spark a sweeping probe into corruption at the heart of the organization. Two years later, AG James made history by filing to dissolve the NRA altogether — a move that shook the gun lobby to its core.
We marked this milestone by hosting a virtual rally with our members nationwide, creating space for youth activists to hear directly from AG James, and mobilizing supporters to celebrate a turning point in the fight. And when the NRA was forced to downsize, we showed up at their headquarters to help them pack their bags.

Shifting the Culture
We dragged the NRA out of the shadows and forced the country to see them for what they are. By putting them at the center of the national conversation, we made it politically toxic for corporations and lawmakers to stand with them. Millions of young people exposed their grip on our democracy, and the media stopped treating them as a credible voice — instead covering the NRA as the face of greed, corruption, and obstruction.
