Partner Toolkit: Shop GVP Heros
What is the Highland Park Peace Project?
A nonprofit preventing gun violence by targeting companies that do business with or enable firearms manufacturers of assault weapons.
Why is it important?
Legislative approaches to GVP are slow, and manufacturers, supply-chains and enablers had leverage via business relationships.
MAKE YOUR PURCHASE COUNT
The Highland Park Peace Project created a public database of companies that do business with civilian-facing Assault Weapon manufacturers.
The HPPP database serves as a powerful tool for governments and private enterprises in evaluating their business relationships. And daily customers like you can make a difference with each of your purchases.
Check HPPP’s Scorecard Before Buying!
The HPPP scorecard will be very helpful this as you prepare to make purchases
Before buying something from a big retailer, look them up in HPPP’s online database.
- If they’re listed as an “Enabler,” maybe skip them.
- If they’re a “Hero,” then you can buy knowing that your money isn’t indirectly supporting assault-weapon manufacturing.
The HPPP scorecard currently lists 26 heroes and 152 enablers.
Share your hero purchase.
When you make a purchase with a hero business:
- Leave a review
- Tell your friends
- Post about it
- Continue to shop there!
Sign your company up to be a hero.
Ready to go above and beyond? If you know a company that might be a hero you can submit them here.
Heroes must not have received revenue from one of the leading public facing military-style assault weapons manufacturers or distributors during the last 4 quarters.
