March For Our Lives Applauds Supreme Court Decision in Bondi v. VanDerStok Upholding Regulation of Ghost Gun Kits

The ruling upholds the Biden Administration’s lifesaving rule that will ensure untraceable, unserialized firearms will be subject to the same regulations as other guns. March for Our Lives Co-Founder and Executive Director Jackie Corin released the following statement:

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 26, 2025 — “This ruling acknowledges what we’ve known all along: ghost guns should be subject to exactly the same common sense regulations as any other firearm. It’s a massive win for gun safety and for young people who have spent years fighting to make our voices heard in a system that was designed by the Gun Lobby and their politicians to prioritize industry profits over our right to live.

Ghost guns are the weapon of choice for those hoping to evade background checks, from convicted felons to domestic abusers to people under 18, and are increasingly being marketed online as ‘ridiculously easy’ for amateurs to assemble. They have turned schools and communities into battlegrounds, leaving young people terrified that the next shooting could be at their school, their mall, or their concert.

Today’s ruling is a direct result of the relentless advocacy of young people who refuse to accept a future where anyone with a credit card can order an untraceable gun like it’s a DIY project. This is a critical step forward, but our work is far from done. The new Trump administration marks the single biggest threat to safety we’ve ever faced from Washington and this decision won’t stop their attempts to turn back the clock and reverse our hard-fought wins. Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we get back in the fight.”
