March For Our Lives Returns to Its Roots as Parkland Survivor and Founding Member Jaclyn Corin Becomes Executive Director
Youth-led movement announces organizational changes to refocus on holding Gun Lobby and Trump administration accountable for killing America’s kids.
Trevon Bosley, activist and MFOL Action Fund Board Co-Chair: “As a gun violence survivor, Jackie understands the trauma and urgency of this fight on a deeply personal level.”
WASHINGTON, D.C., March 20, 2025 — March For Our Lives (MFOL) today announced that co-founder Jaclyn “Jackie” Corin will assume the role of Executive Director, leading the organization’s return to its founding mission as a youth-led movement focused on holding the Gun Lobby and its politicians accountable for the epidemic of gun violence in America. The leadership change makes Jaclyn the only gun violence survivor currently serving as Executive Director of a national gun violence prevention organization.
Jackie transformed her grief into action following the mass shooting at her high school in Parkland, Florida on February 14, 2018. She was instrumental in mobilizing over 2 million participants in 900 marches worldwide in 2018, pushing for decisive action on gun safety. As March For Our Lives’ inaugural Director of Outreach, Corin led initiatives for voter registration and gun safety education across the country. A natural implementer and strategic organizer, she organized the first major MFOL action — busing 100 Parkland students to the Florida State Capitol just days after the shooting, which helped secure Florida’s first gun safety legislation in decades. She rejoins the organization after graduating from Harvard and the University of Oxford where she studied government and public policy.
“I was 17 when we founded March For Our Lives after watching my friends and teachers get murdered at my high school,” said Jackie Corin, Executive Director of March For Our Lives. “This fight is deeply personal and it’s why I’m stepping up to lead MFOL back to its roots by channeling our founding spirit of disruption to refocus on one singular mission: holding the gun lobby and its politicians accountable for killing America’s kids.”
The leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment for the gun violence prevention movement. With the return of President Trump to the White House, MFOL is coming full circle to the political environment in which it was first founded. During Trump’s previous term, MFOL catalyzed a national movement of young people who channeled their collective rage and frustration into a powerful force for change. After years of steady wins — including the creation of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which MFOL called for before any other national group — America’s historic progress on gun violence is under threat and MFOL is recommitting to its founding spirit of youth-led activism and accountability.
“As we enter this next phase in the fight to end gun violence amid a second Trump administration, it is crucial to have a leader who understands the urgency of this moment,” said David Hogg, Co-founder of March for Our Lives. “Jackie’s leadership at March for Our Lives helped turn a scrappy group of young activists into a national movement and she has the vision, experience, and commitment to lead this organization through its next chapter.”
“As a gun violence survivor, Jackie understands the trauma and urgency of this fight on a deeply personal level,” said Trevon Bosley, activist and MFOL Action Fund Board Co-Chair. “She recognizes that gun violence affects all communities differently, especially those plagued by daily shootings that rarely make headlines. Jackie will ensure our movement amplifies voices from every community affected by gun violence, regardless of zip code or socioeconomic status.”
