Parkland Pam

About
On February 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 students and staff members. In the days that followed, then-Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi promised action, supported Florida’s gun safety laws, and built her reputation as someone who could “find common ground” on gun safety.
She used that reputation to climb the political ladder. And on February 4, 2025, she was confirmed as U.S. Attorney General. Since then, Pam Bondi has used the highest law enforcement office in the country to undo every promise she made.
From elementary schools to college campuses, students in Florida and across the country leave for school each morning wondering if they’ll make it home alive.
Just three months ago, some of the same survivors Pam Bondi comforted after Parkland endured another trauma at the shooting at Florida State. Still, she refuses to act. How many more lives will it take?
As the organization founded by Parkland survivors, March For Our Lives refuses to let ‘Parkland Pam’ escape accountability for her betrayal.
BONDI’S BROKEN PROMISES
2018 – Promises Made:
After Parkland, Pam Bondi vowed to:
- Committed to helping victims and families.
- Pledged to work to make sure “every school in Florida is much safer”
- Promised to work to prevent gun trafficking
- Supported the Gun Violence Restraining Order and endorsed national red flag laws.
- Supported raising the minimum age for assault rifle purchases to 21.
- Stated she would prioritize comprehensive gun safety measures.
2025 – Promises Broken:
Once in power, Pam Bondi didn’t just walk away from her promises—she torched them by:
- Refusing to support national red flag laws despite previously endorsing them.
- Deflecting when asked about her past support for raising the minimum age to 21 for assault rifle purchases.
- Effectively legalizing machine guns by refusing to regulate forced reset triggers.
- Revoking the ATF’s “zero tolerance” policy for gun dealers who break the law.
- Slashing millions of dollars in funding for Community Violence Intervention programs.
- Tearing down a memorial to gun violence victims, which featured kids killed during the Parkland shooting.
- Creating a Guns Everywhere “Task Force” to do the gun lobby’s bidding.
- Proposing gutting the ATF’s budget to eliminate the agency’s ability to oversee the gun industry, diminishing its ability to protect our communities.
Rolling Truth Through the Streets
All day long on July 23, our mobile billboards drove through Washington, D.C. and Miami — carrying the truth Pam Bondi wants the public to forget.
She may want to move on, but some truths follow you home.

I am writing as a concerned American who is deeply troubled by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s systematic betrayal of the promises she made to gun violence survivors.
After the February 14, 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that killed seventeen students and staff members, then-Florida Attorney General Bondi looked survivors in the eye and made specific commitments. She promised to support Gun Violence Restraining Orders, raise the minimum age for assault rifle purchases to 21, and “help the victims and families.” She championed “finding common ground” on comprehensive gun safety measures.
As Attorney General, Bondi has systematically destroyed every protection she once supported. She ended ATF’s zero-tolerance policy for law-breaking gun dealers. She created a “Second Amendment Task Force” to prioritize gun lobby interests. She slashed funding for violence prevention programs. She destroyed an ATF memorial honoring gun violence victims, including Parkland children. She effectively legalized machine guns by refusing to enforce federal law against forced reset triggers. She proposed massive ATF budget cuts.
Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and teens. Students leave for school wondering if they’ll make it home alive. Bondi built her career on survivors’ pain, then used her power to enable more violence. I am horrified that someone entrusted with America’s highest law enforcement position would betray grieving families. I am writing today to hold AG Bondi accountable and request that the Department of Justice answer the following questions:
- Will AG Bondi withdraw support for budget cuts to the ATF and commit to fully funding gun law enforcement?
- Will AG Bondi publicly endorse national red flag laws to help prevent shootings before they happen?
- Will AG Bondi disband the Second Amendment Task Force and instead convene a task force on gun violence prevention?
- Will AG Bondi restore funding for life-saving community-based violence intervention programs?
Will AG Bondi reinstate and strengthen federal enforcement policies that hold illegal gun dealers accountable?
